Founder and CEO of AiCuris Wuppertal (GER)
Research and development, on topics that frighten us – and that are vital for survival: Cancer. HIV. Herpes. Hepatitis. Viral infections. Multi-resistant bacteria.
Helga Rübsamen-Schaeff, who holds a doctorate in chemistry, can look back on a remarkable career: Following positions such as head of the chemotherapeutic research institute Georg-Speyer-Haus in Frankfurt and of the virus and later infection research at Bayer AG, she founded AiCuris in 2006 to devote even more time to working on drugs to combat infectious diseases. The company’s first drug was approved as early as 2017. Helga is currently Chairman of the Advisory Board of AiCuris and a member of the Supervisory Boards of Merck and 4SC. For her work, she was awarded the The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Future Prize by the German President.
